December 10, 2007 05:55 PM

***The new tennis director for the Veterans Park spring and summer program is Roman Vescio from Princeton Tennis Program. Information on all programming is available on www.ptp.org.

*** The Philadelphia Freedoms, a World TeamTennis Pro League franchise, has announced its home schedule. Matches will be July 4, 9, 14, 16, 17, 19, and 21. Venus Williams will play on the July 9, John McEnroe on the July 14, and the Bryan Brothers on the July 16. Lisa Raymond has rejoined the team, and her teammates will be Alex Bogomolov Jr., Audra Cohen, and Travis Parrott.

The Freedoms have outgrown the Cabrini College site, where they have played home matches for the past seven years, and are moving to the King of Prussia Mall, the third largest mall in the country. A stadium will be built in the parking lot of the Court in front of Macy’s and Bloomingdales on Rt. 202. It will accommodate 2,500 spectators with room for expansion. WTT teams in Newport Beach and Sacramento also play on temporary stadium courts in parking lots and that has worked well for them. For more info, visit www.philadelphiafreedoms.com.
