Tennis Service Representative

Part-time position in the New Jersey District covering Hunterdon, Warren, and Sussex counties. Developing youth and adult tennis programs at clubs, park and recreation agencies, and schools. Excellent sales, organizational, people/computer skills, and tennis background required. Send resume and cover letter to by February 8th.


 TITLE Tennis Service Representative

Reports to Director of Community Development


Increase participation in tennis by promoting, developing and servicing tennis programs in a designated geographic area by establishing strong relationships with the local delivery system including tennis and non-tennis facilities, organizations and volunteers. A close working relationship is required with the District President and full-time Tennis Service Representative.


1. Meet with tennis facility personnel to assess their needs and as necessary, provide awareness, education, marketing materials and support for increasing tennis participation and membership at the local level.

2. Actively promote tennis opportunities for multicultural participants, instructors and volunteers.

3. Provide local marketing ideas, strategies and PR support to tennis facilities in order to increase the number of new players and frequent players.

4. Represent USTA Middle States by attending and/or assisting in workshops, events or meetings designed to strengthen the local delivery system.

5. Submit updated goals and activity reports to the Director of Community Development as required.

6. To serve as liaison and work closely with the assigned district board.

7. To serve as liaison to sectional committees as assigned.

8. Other duties as assigned.


The Tennis Service Representative will work in conjunction with the USPTA, PTR, TIA, NIRSA, community leaders, local volunteers, local tennis facility owners and managers, Park and Recreation leaders, USTA School Tennis and After School Tennis Administrators, USTA Junior Team Tennis and Collegiate Administrators, CTA Administrators, and other organizations who share similar interest.

1. Excellent organizational, administrative and management skills required.

2. Excellent communication and presentation skills both verbal and written.

3. Customer service skills and ability to work with volunteers.

4. Computer experience to include Power Point, Word, Excel, Access and Outlook.

5. High energy and enthusiasm

6. Knowledge of USTA MS programs and tennis background preferred.

7. Ability to work independently and as part of the USTA MS programming team.

8. College degree preferred or minimum 5 years industry/business experience.


Part time staff member based in the USTA MS satellite office. Some evening and weekend work required. Attend meetings, events and workshops as required.
